Chris Coker for Keller ISD Board of Trustees, Place 5
We have accomplished a great deal together.
Four years ago, we demanded accountability, financial discipline, and a focus on parents and students. We delivered. Now, let's finish what we started.

"I believe Keller ISD is stronger when Trustees are willing to ask difficult questions, challenge assumptions, demand accountability, and remember that every dollar we spend ultimately belongs to the taxpayers we represent."
— Chris Coker
Promises Kept
A Proven Record of Results
Four years ago, I promised leadership willing to challenge the status quo. Working together, we have completely transformed the district's trajectory.
Restored Fiscal Discipline
Keller ISD reports nearly $45 million in spending reductions through the 2023–24 and 2024–25 budget development processes. The district's total tax rate fell from $1.2729 in 2022 to $1.0852 in 2024 per $100 of valuation—the lowest of those three tax years (2022–2024).
Protected Parent & Student Rights
Keller ISD's instructional and library materials policies include content guidelines and a process for parents to challenge materials. Related Texas legislation addresses parental rights, library materials, and instructional resources: HB 900 and HB 1605 (2023), and SB 12 and SB 13 (2025).

Safe, Focused Classrooms
Keller ISD uses district security officers alongside School Resource Officers and local police agencies. The district adopted its phone-free learning policy in August 2024, before Texas passed HB 1481 on student communication devices in 2025.
Unwavering Student Achievement
Student achievement remains my priority—in academics, athletics, and the Fine Arts. Voters can review Keller ISD's academic results in the Texas Education Agency's district report card.
Looking Forward
The Work Ahead
Our work isn't finished. I will continue to ask the hard questions and fight for the long-term financial health and transparency of our district.
Sustainable Health Insurance
I fought for better and more sustainable health insurance alternatives for our teachers and employees, and I will continue that fight to ensure they are taken care of.
Responsible Land Use
I am fighting to look beyond simply selling valuable district assets, instead exploring opportunities to generate long-term revenue to reduce our dependence on taxpayers.
Bond & Debt Transparency
Taxpayers deserve to understand not simply what we can borrow, but what we should borrow—and what those decisions mean for the next generation of Keller ISD taxpayers.

Meet Chris Coker
A Calling to Serve Our Community.
Almost four years ago, I ran for the Keller ISD Board of Trustees because I believed our District needed greater accountability and leadership willing to challenge the "status quo" mentality.
Serving this community has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. I still feel strongly that this is what God has called me to do, despite the constant frustrations of dealing with bureaucracy. The status quo isn't working, so we can't lean on it.
We also moved Trustee elections from May to November, ensuring substantially more members of our community can participate in the democratic process. I am asking for your vote to continue this critical work.
Make Your Voice Heard
We successfully moved Trustee elections to November so more citizens can participate. The school board directly impacts our children's future and our tax rates. Plan your vote today.
